Launching the Per Scholas Newark Women in Technology (WIT) Initiative, which aims to increase the number of women - particularly women of color - entering the tech workforce. With the support of the Arman Roy Foundation, Per Scholas will train at least 150 women over two years (2023-24) for careers in tech, following this with connections to full-time, living wage employment, offering holistic support along the way. We expect that 85% will graduate and 80% of graduates will obtain full-time careers earning an average wage of $21/hr.
"This will be the third year of our extraordinary partnership with the Arman Roy Foundation. We look forward to working together to open doors for women in the Newark area, who are largely underrepresented in the tech workforce, gain no-cost, hands-on employment training and career advancement opportunities in the IT field, along with a network of supportive resources and guidance for success."
